Hammad Gillani (Syed Hammadullah Shah) was born in 1993 in Orakzai Agency FATA, Pakistan. He graduated from the National College of Arts, Lahore, with a major in Miniature Painting in 2016.
He has been exploring multiple art practices, ranging from abstract expressionism, hyper-realism, traditional miniature painting, and new media art. Since his graduation, he has exhibited in Vienna, Salzburg, Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad. Hammad has also taught Miniature Painting as a co-teacher at the Salzburg Summer Academy with Imran Qureshi and Aisha Khalid in 2016 and 2018 respectively. Gillani currently lives and works in Lahore, Pakistan.
Mulghalarra Khan is a miniature painter, architect and lecturer, based in Lahore. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the National College of Arts, Lahore and a Master’s degree in Urban Studies from Erasmus Mundus UNICA 4CITIES, as a recipient of the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship. She is currently teaching at the National College of Arts, Lahore and has been involved
in various architecture and interior projects during her career.
Her work revolves around a sense of transition and new beginnings as she explores new mediums to express this character. It is an examination of the old and the new where the historical and cultural essence of tradition can synchronize into the future in harmony.
