KARACHI: Painter Nahid Razas latest work goes on display at Chawkandi Art today (Tuesday) at an opening reception from 5.30pm to 8pm. On show are 28 panels in various sizes.
Nahid is perhaps among those few artists of national standing who are totally devoted to their work and paint continuously without respite. She paints with unmitigated commitment and, at the same time, continues to experiment with her form, content and medium.
Her present paintings are done on lasani-wood panels mounted on framed plywood sheets painted over in deep black. Her palette, too, has undergone some pleasant changes. Her familiar remains largely the same, but sillier browns now appear side by side there are signs of some bold variations with flaming reds, eye-soothing whites, and blues with flashes of the exhibition continues until gold. Her theme-woman Feb 3, open daily from 11am to various moods and postures- 8pm-Ess Aye.
