An exhibition of paintings by Khadim Ali begins tomorrow August 13 at Chawkandi Art at 5.30pm and is open till August 20 daily from 11am to 8pm. The gallery will be open on August 14. Nestled within the craggy mountains of Afghanistan is meticulously-observed landscape of destruction and despair lashed by broad strokes of red, complete with menacing cannons, the litter of empty shells and shrapnel, the looming sarcophagal shadow of the Bamiyan Buddha.
